What you will study
Compare modules across business management, marketing, finance, people management and entrepreneurship. Ask which pathway and optional units are offered at your chosen location.
Pearson’s HND combines core, specialist and optional units. Request the current teaching and assessment plan, including projects, presentations, written work and independent study expectations.

The Pearson BTEC Level 5 HND in Business (2021) carries 240 credits across Levels 4 and 5. Its qualification number is 603/6838/X. Pathways include Business Management, Accounting and Finance, Marketing and Human Resource Management; availability depends on the delivering institution.
Confirm the exact award, specification and pathway on your offer. Pearson awards the qualification; your delivering institution manages teaching and admissions.
Student Finance for UK residents
Eligible UK-resident applicants may receive Student Finance support towards tuition fees and living costs. Support depends on the course, provider, previous study, age and nationality or residency status. UK residence alone does not guarantee funding. Ask for a funding assessment for your circumstances and confirm that your chosen course and delivering institution qualify. Check student-finance eligibility.
GOV.UK says applications for Lifelong Learning Entitlement funding open from the end of October 2026 for courses starting on or after 1 January 2027. Applications for courses starting from 1 August 2027 open in spring 2027. Check the application timetable.
Before accepting a place, request the fee schedule for each year and budget for travel, equipment and other study costs. An application for funding does not confirm an award.
Progression and career planning
Discuss the kind of work you want to do: business operations, marketing, people management or starting a business. Ask which employers recruit graduates from this pathway and what skills and experience they expect.
If a degree is your goal, request written confirmation from the receiving university about top-up or advanced-entry requirements, including grades and any additional modules. Progression depends on the institution’s admissions decision.
